NMA forest plot
An NMA forest plot displays relative effects for each treatment versus the selected reference treatment. Changing the reference changes comparison labels and orientation, not the underlying evidence network.
For ratio measures, network estimates are stored or modeled on the log scale and back-transformed for display. For difference measures, estimates remain on the additive scale.
League table
A league table is a square matrix of network estimates for all treatment pairs. Each cell must be interpreted with its row/column orientation. Coventra includes effect labels, point estimates, and interval bounds where the model supports them.
Heatmap coloring is a visual aid for scanning. The numeric estimate and interval are the evidence; color is not a certainty rating.
Default and changeable behavior
- NMA forest and league output are optional modules in the NMA workflow.
- The reference treatment is user-changeable.
- The model displayed in league tables follows the chosen common/random availability, usually random when random output is requested.
- Plot style, dimensions, color, and export format use the same plot option framework as other publication plots.
Reporting checklist
- State the reference treatment used for forest plots.
- Explain row/column orientation for league tables.
- Report effect measure and transformation/back-transformation.
- Do not use heatmap color as a substitute for certainty assessment.
- Make sure rankings and league table direction agree.
