Before you create the project

A clean project setup makes every later step easier. Decide the review question, planned eligibility criteria, primary outcomes, reviewer roles, and whether your team will need premium-only workflows such as NMA, GRADE automation, AI-assisted study characteristics, or premium exports.

Create the project

  1. Open the workspace and choose the project creation action.
  2. Give the project a clear title that your team will recognize.
  3. Add review metadata where available, such as objectives, population, intervention, comparator, outcomes, and protocol notes.
  4. Choose analysis configuration only when you already know the intended synthesis family. You can refine it later.
  5. Review the project checklist and complete the setup items that apply to your protocol.

Set practical defaults

  • Use consistent outcome names from the start.
  • Decide whether title/abstract screening should be blind.
  • Choose how many reviewers are required for screening decisions.
  • Create labels only when they help routing, prioritization, or reporting.
  • Keep notes factual and review-relevant; avoid storing unnecessary personal data.

Invite people carefully

Full-project collaborators can work across the project depending on their role. Screening-only members are intended for reviewers who should participate in screening without receiving broader project access.

Practical tips
  • Use screening-only access for large reviewer pools.
  • Keep project owner or lead permissions limited to people who can manage membership, conflicts, and final decisions.
